Eudc Tallinn 2008 recap

Its a couple of days since im back from the eudc, but am still writing from my phone, being at the Slovenian summer debate camp. Here are some of the final notes on the eudc 2008.

1. Food
This has been one of the biggest dissapointments. Not only was it not tasty, being hungry on a debate tournament really sux. The money that they have spent on the fancy hotel would be much better spent on more and better food.

2. Tournament
Having all the announcements on time was really a great change from what ive seen on previous eudcs.

3. Coffe
Coffe should be provided at all times. Really. Always

4. Socials
Trying something different is good but it just did not work this time. And i remember a promise on free alcohol, but a free beer at the dinner is just a bit less than i expected.

All in all it was ok, but we have seen better and look forward to eudc 2009

First problems at the EUDC 2008 Tallinn

Well, it all seemed ok, when we entered the hotel, but the first problems just popped up. Some of the people, and as I hear, that means a lot of people, will have to move for a night to another hotel, because of over booking of the hotel. I see that this is anoying to those people.
The other problem are the interviews for the ESL status. Some teams, that are competing as ESL for a long time are now being called in for interviews and are, as we unofficially heard, being changed into EFL teams. The same thing happens for one of our teams, so it will be interesting for the pre-council.
We are going for sight seeing in Tallinn tomorrow in the morning and are going to attend the debaters briefing in the afternoon. This seems interesting, even for me, as I have seen a couple of these briefings before.

We are at the eudc 2008

We arrived at the hotel and it all looks great, the rooms are a bit exhibitionistic, i will support that with a pic but the internet does not work yet for me. In estonia this is weird, because of their internet developement. We are going to enjoy the tallinn night life

Day two on the road to Tallinn EUDC 2008

We are travelling to Tallinn now for the second day, as I write this its now 48 hours since we started from Slovenìa. It was a great nìght in Kaunas, celebrating Simons birth day and enjoying Svitoris (Lithuanian beer).
240 km away from Tallinn, i must say it was a great jurney but we are all looking forward to the debates.
More from the debates from the event

First news from the road to eudc Tallinn

We are somewhere in the slovak republic, and 15 hours drive away from Kaunas, where we will spend the night.
I remember when people from the US told me about their road trips with vans, and it looked weird to me. Now here we are, on a two day drive to the EUDC 2008 in Tallinn. Ive heard a lot about the Polish roads, now as we will drive through the whole country, we will see ìf all that is true.
